About Us

Firm Foundation Ministries is a teaching and equipping ministry to the body of Christ.  This ministry is a  community resource that can assist churches and ministries in their training of staff and leaders.

FFM, a partner with the church and community to provide ministry resources and life development skills.

Firm Foundation Ministries partners with churches and ministries across denominational lines.

Firm Foundation Ministries is a Christian, not-for-profit ministry, providing education in both biblical and practical life skills that empower individuals and families to live more productive and faithful Christ-centered lives.

More specifically, we are committed to helping people and organizations achieve their maximum potential in Christ, through education and coaching in biblical studies, Leadership development, Money Management & Faith.  Annually, the fourth weekend in April,  we gather people from different churches and denominations for our Spirit-Filled conference, which is a time of refreshing and rejuvenation.  Because people in ministry give so much, The Spirit-Filled conference serves as a time to get away and drink deeply from God’s reservoir.  The Spirit-Filled conference is for males and females, from middle school to seasoned saints.

Executive Pastor

Rev. Dr. Hicks is an anointed teacher and preacher with a Pastor’s heart, who is led by the Holy Spirit, and her passion to fulfill the call of God to “Blow the Trumpet In Zion.”  She believes that Christian Education (teaching & equipping) is foundational in the life of the church, and the believer.  She is the founder and President of Firm Foundation Ministries, Inc., and serves as Executive Pastor.  She is also a church and ministry consultant in the area of Money Management, Christian Education Training and life development.  She has trained church staff to establish and manage in-church Bible Institutes.  Dr. Hicks has worked with organizations in the area of Organizational Behavior; thus performing SWOT analysis that aid in determining growth potential.  Her favorite scripture is Psalm 27:4. .

Rev. Dr. Hicks developed a model combining faith and personal money management as her Doctor of Ministry Project entitled “Blow The Trumpet in Zion: Sound an Alarm”  A Community-Based Ministry For Financial Literacy. The project emphasizes a biblical understanding of God’s economy, and our responsibility to end all forms of master-slave relationships and be faithful to God.   To that end, many have experienced changed lives through learning and living as faithful managers of the resources that God has entrusted to them.  Rev. Hicks teaches that believers should exemplify faithfulness to God in every area of life, including their finances.   She has authored a book entitled “Establishing and Building Upon a Solid and a Firm Foundation.”  This book is written as a handbook for every believer who takes seriously the command of Jesus “to make disciples.”  Knowing Jesus and His word has to be foundational for every believer, otherwise; there is no basis for spiritual growth.

Dr. Hicks is the Pastor of Discipleship & Christian Education for New Life Community Church, which includes providing direction to all discipleship and education ministry staff who support all ages.  She develops special adult classes and seminars leading to spiritual maturity.  Dr. Hicks also manages a global prayer ministry for OurPrayer, a service of Guideposts. This prayer ministry has been praying for others more than 50 years through the mobilization and training of volunteers around the world. On an annual basis, more than 800,000 people are prayed for

Rev. Dr. Hicks is married to W.A. Hicks and they have two daughters.  She loves ministering to all people, and is convinced that all things are possible with God.  She hosts the annual “Spirit-Filled Conference” and Prayer Retreats during the year as well as other conferences and seminars that encourage spiritual growth through a love relationship with Jesus Christ.

Rev. Dr. Hicks has held Middle Management positions in major corporations. Rev. Hicks has been ordained since 1992, and holds an MBA in Finance, a Master of Divinity Degree, and  a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University. She can be reached via email   for opportunities to minister and facilitate Healthy Money Management Seminars.
