Old Testament Survey Part I:An overview of Genesis through Esther – This course explores the diverse circumstances in which the people of Israel lived.  We will focus on the Old Testament as a theological  witness to the experience of ancient Israel, taking seriously the claim of the text that it is speaking about encounter and relationship with God.  The Old Testament is more than the literature, history, and sociology of ancient people, but it is the collected faith testimony regarded in Judaism and Christianity as scripture through which God’s word becomes a reality and a resource to the modern synagogue and church.  For our purposes, this is not just ancient Israel’s book, but it belongs to the church as well.  Dates for the Fall: September 19, October 3,10,17 & 24; November 7, 14, 21; December 5, 2011.
Old Testament Survey Part II: Job - Malachi: A survey of the Prophets and writings.  This course will survey the Old Testament from the Hebrew Bible perspective and will provide a historical-thematic survey of the Old Testament during and after the Exile.  Special attention is given to the cultural, theological, ad contextual perspectives. A look at the practical application of major Old Testament themes will be discussed.  Dates for the winter: January 9, 16 & 23; February 6, 13, & 20; March 5 & 12, 2012

New Testament Survey: Brings unity and chronological sequence to New Testament study by weaving the contents of the books around a central theme the pers6n of Christ. Divisions are the synoptic gospels, the Gospel of John, the Book of Acts, the Pauline Epistles in chronological order, the General Epistles and the Book of Revelation.   Dates for the Spring: April 2, 9, 16, & 23; May 7, 14, & 21, 2012

Joy At Work - based upon the book by Dennis Bakke which focuses on the fact that God created us with a purpose and design that enables us to be good stewards of our gifts and employing them toward meaningful work brings joy and peace.  As redeemed people of God through the Lord Jesus we are to demonstrate the glory of the Lord in the earth  and find out where our gifts fit in the workplace.

Spiritual Formation 1: Topics include foundations for spiritual growth, communication with God, establishing a godly life-style, developing interpersonal skills, worship and devotional life, identifying ministry capabilities and areas for service, and lifelong learning.

Spiritual Formation 2: The moment you invite Christ into your life and experience conversion, a monumental change takes place.  In part 1, we explore the necessary ingredients needed to cultivate and stir a desire for spiritual growth, namely the virtues of Jesus.  While Jesus virtues are the goal, in Part 2, we will look closely at the disciplines or spiritual exercises to access the virtues.  We will focus on learning how to practice Spiritual exercises that open us up to God’s presence.  Ultimately our desire is to submit to the Lord Jesus, and be an imitator of Christ in this world.
