Rev. Dr. Hicks
developed a model combining faith and personal money management as her Doctor
of Ministry Project entitled “Blow The Trumpet in Zion: Sound an Alarm” A
Community-Based Ministry For Financial Literacy. The project emphasizes a
biblical understanding of God’s economy, and our responsibility to end all
forms of master-slave relationships and be faithful to God. To that
end, many have experienced changed lives through learning and living as
faithful managers of the resources that God has entrusted to them. Rev.
Hicks teaches that believers should exemplify faithfulness to God in every area
of life, including their finances. She has authored a book entitled
“Establishing and Building Upon a Solid and a Firm Foundation.” This book
is written as a handbook for every believer who takes seriously the command of
Jesus “to make disciples.” Knowing Jesus and His word has to be
foundational for every believer, otherwise; there is no basis for spiritual
growth.
Rev. Dr. Hicks is
married to W.A. Hicks and they have two daughters. She loves ministering
to all people, and is convinced that all things are possible with God.
She hosts the annual “Spirit-Filled Conference” and Prayer Retreats during the
year as well as other conferences and seminars that encourage spiritual
growth through a love relationship with Jesus Christ.
Rev. Dr. Hicks has
held Middle Management positions in major corporations. Rev. Hicks has been
ordained since 1992, and holds an MBA in Finance, a Master of Divinity Degree,
and a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of
Theology, Virginia Union University. She can be reached via email revhicks@sbcglobal.net for opportunities to minister and facilitate
Healthy Money Management Seminars.
