About Rev. Dr. Peola C. Hicks

Rev. Dr. Hicks is an anointed teacher and preacher with a Pastor’s heart, who is led by the Holy Spirit, and her passion to fulfill the call of God to “Blow the Trumpet in Zion.” She believes that growing in the grace of God is foundational and undergirds all that we do in the life of a believer. She is the founder and President of Firm Foundation Ministries, Inc., and serves as Executive Pastor and Coach. She is also a church and ministry consultant in the area of Money Management, Christian Education Training and life development. She has trained church staff to establish and manage in-church Bible Institutes. Dr. Hicks has worked with organizations in the area of Organizational Behavior; thus, performing SWOT analysis that aid in determining growth potential. Her favorite scripture is Psalm 27:4.

Rev. Dr. Hicks developed a model combining faith and personal money management as her Doctor of Ministry Project entitled “Blow the Trumpet in Zion: Sound an Alarm” A Community-Based Ministry for Financial Literacy. The project emphasizes a biblical understanding of God’s economy, and our responsibility to end all forms of master-slave relationships and be faithful to God. To that end, many have experienced changed lives through her coaching and education to become faithful managers of the resources that God has entrusted to them. This is especially helpful for married couples who never discuss money before marriage or find themselves struggling with money, which leads to arguments in the home. Rev. Hicks teaches that believers should exemplify faithfulness to God in every area of life, including their finances.

Rev. Dr. Hicks has held Middle Management positions in major corporations. She has been ordained since 1992, and holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from Johnson C. smith University, an MBA in Finance from the Hagen School of Business at Iona College, , a Master of Divinity Degree, from Iliff Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University.
